Wood chip drying

Wood chip drying

Drying wood chips is becoming more important. Fresh wood chips have a water content of 40 – 60 % (large differences in moisture content between heartwood and sapwood). The calorific value of fresh wood chips is around 2 kW/kg. The advantages of dry wood chips are obvious.

Advantages

Almost any material can be dried with the LASCO gill plate.

The nozzle opening is small. This eliminates the problem of the drying material falling through into the printing chamber.

The nozzle plate floor can also be equipped with a suitable substructure so that it can be driven over, which has proved very successful for wood chips, logs, grain, maize and tea drying.

Gill plates are also suitable for maize or grain.
