The Winklhof agricultural college switched to organic hay milk back in 2020.
Provincial Councillor Josef Schwaiger presented the switch in 2020 with the words: “From now on, organic hay milk production at Winklhof will be of the highest standard.”

To ensure the quality of the forage, the company invested in a hay drying system. Several manufacturers applied for the implementation in a tendering process.

For the following reasons, the decision was made in favor of hay drying from LASCO, according to Director Springl:

  • Personal support during the planning phase
  • Technology
  • Price/performance ratio

The Winklhof hay drying plant:

Two hay boxes and a round bale dryer were built into the existing building. The hay boxes each have a size of 120m2. The round bale system consists of 12 holes / 24 bales. The entire system is operated with a fan and a dehumidifier. The drying process is monitored and controlled by the “Selection” hay drying control system with a 15″ screen.
