Full-time farming with goat's hay milk - Klaus Eichhorn shows what is possible

Klaus Eichhorn, 36, from Buchkirchen near Wels started planning his new goat barn in 2021. Originally a part-time farmer in arable farming, he built his goat barn for 380 dairy goats and 100 rearing goats. Klaus is currently still building up his herd and already has 200 dairy goats. Originally, the sheep lover wanted to focus on dairy sheep, but the low market demand led him to goat’s milk.

Silage was out of the question for him, as he had had bad experiences with it. Instead, he relies on LASCO’s hay drying system, which brings every single leaf to the feed table and significantly improves the climate in the barn. His hay drying system consists of a roof extraction system, fans, a control system and a wood chip hot air oven.

Klaus affectionately refers to the cab of his new LASCO C-series hay crane as his “living room” – it leaves nothing to be desired. We wish Klaus continued success with his goat’s milk production, hay farming and the further development of his business!

The LASCO C-series hay crane. Fast, strong, reliable. For Klaus, the cab is "like a living room."
