150 kilometers west of Rennes, near the French west coast, LASCO’s first large French hay drying facility was put into operation in June 2016. The total hay drying area of the Dolo family is 800 m2. A bulk drying system increases the range of applications, as grain, wood chips or maize can also be dried.
The special feature of the system is that two of the four boxes can be dried at any time. In addition, several energy sources are available to the drying system for processing the drying air.

The special feature of the system is that two of the four boxes can be dried at any time. In addition, several energy sources are available to the drying system for processing the drying air.
The unloading station for the loader wagon was positioned in the middle of the building and raised above the hay boxes. This keeps the distances for the hay crane as short as possible and saves working time.
A LASCO M70 hay crane ensures fast loading. For comfort, a fully glazed cabin with air conditioning, filter and radio. As the control cabinets of the new DRYair dehumidifier generation are now external, all information flows together in the technical room. This is also where the HB4000 control module is located. The control unit automatically regulates the drying process. Depending on the outside air quality, the system decides between recirculated air or roof extraction mode and changes the operating status fully automatically via a flap system.
If the air quality via the roof extraction system is not sufficient, the system switches to recirculated air mode and activates the dehumidifiers and heating registers of the biogas plant.
